Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH, specialist for material-optimised high performance processing, is extending its tool range with the newly developed SC blades for particularly smooth and clean ultrasound cutting. Compared to conventional blades, these newly-developed monobloc blades achieve an increase in cutting performance of up to 100% combined with an increase in oscillation amplitudes of up to 10-fold. Thus, Hufschmied ultrasound blades allow for a highly precise separation of material without fraying together with a multiple of feed rates and less tool wear. These SC blades have been developed in cooperation with the Karlsbad firm of Weber Ultrasonics AG, who will be offering these blades in sets to customers with their perfectly matched SonoTrans systems. No chips as with milling, no burnt edges as with laser cutting: Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH, in cooperation with Weber Ultrasonics AG, is introducing a series of innovative SC monobloc blades onto the market, with which even challenging materials such as honeycomb, films, skins, CFRP and GFRP fabrics can be cut through extremely efficiently and with the utmost precision.
As a new tool for the processing of graphite, HUFSCHMIED has introduced the Graftor® into its range. It makes tool changes redundant when processing graphite electrodes: Roughing and finishing are achieved in one single processing step whilst exerting only a low cutting force on the often extremely delicate pins of the electrodes. Thus, manufacturing time and expense are massively reduced. As with all of Hufschmied’s graphite milling cutters, Graftor® is equipped with a patented nano-crystalline diamond coating. This means that even the smallest of milling tools remain sharp against the abrasive graphite and achieve surface qualities that are up to two grades higher.
With the newly-developed BlockBuster tool range, Hufschmied is showcasing tools excelling in low cutting forces and decreased thermic stress. Both characteristics favour the very cost-effective milling of all manners of sheet materials in model-making. Roughing and smoothing can be achieved without the need to change tools and is achieved in one single processing step. For the machining of plastics block material, BlockBuster is available with large diameters of up to 25 mm and lengths of up to 300 mm.
